Seven-time Pushcart nominee and Discover/The Nation Finalist, Janet Norman Knox will perform poems from her book which dwells in subjects of immigration (the leaving and making of home), inspiration, working for others, friendship, and environment. Onstage will be one of the 4 by 6 foot encaustic paintings by Tom Fehsenfeld [Janet's spousal romance] that appear in the book.

"This is true poetry, exciting and imaginative in its scope, muscular and memorable in its verbal music. It is memorable because it dares to go places we haven't heard of, and do so with grace that is wild, yes, but also heartrending. There is much play in this sequence of poems, all of it earned and felt through, delivered with precision and clarity. I love her poems"  --Ilya Kaminsky

Jeannine Hall Gailey is a Port Townsend writer whose first book of poetry, Becoming the Villainess, was published by Steel Toe Books in 2006. Poems from the book were featured on NPR’s The Writer’s Almanac with Garrison Keillor, Verse Daily, and 2007’s The Year’s Best Fantasy and Horror. Also a former Concrete Wolf judge, she’ll be reading from her book, as well as new work based on Japanese folk tales.
